A coworker of mine had designed a simple LED circuit and used it to light up a small Christmas tree on his desk for the month of December. It looked like a fun side project so I decided to make my own version of it. I cut up a small set of Christmas lights into four strings and connected them to a switching circuit. An Arduino controls the circuit and takes input from four user buttons that tell it which light pattern to output. The whole system is powered by USB and gets housed inside of a 3D printed enclosure made up of two halves that secure together using compliant locking tabs.
